This paper consists of introduction, body and conclusion. In the introduction, the necessity of carrying out creativity is stated from the aspects of the demands of knowledge economy for education, the demands of individual development and the demands of the development of education itself. The research is of great importance considering the measures taken for the further development of education and the difficulties we have met in the process of them being carried out in reality. The body is made up of two parts. First, the paper states the theories of creativity and creativity education; second, the paper illustrates the development of creativity of middle school students. At last, through analysis into the characteristics and the advantages of cultivating creativity, it is believed possible to carry on creativity education in chemistry in middle schools. In the second part, teaching methods are suggested to cultivate creativity of students in chemistry in middle school, based on questionnaires of teachers, the theories of creativity and creativity education and the experience gained in my own daily teaching. Finally, in the conclusion part, the paper points out the problems that remain to be further researched on as well as the research direction.
