The reform of elementary education is being furthered. The key point of the education reform is the reform of curriculum, and the core of curriculum reform is teaching. History tells us theory and practice of education often comes apart. Teaching design is the means to bridge the gap. People working on theory will learn the obstacles and limits of teaching from the teaching design and will thus improve their theory. Meanwhile, the teachers will improve their theory of education and teaching effect, minimize the random in teaching. Now the reforms of curriculum and teaching are booming. Consequently the further study of teaching design and its contents are projects unavoided. The paper is to inquire into the teaching design of music of junior high school. It falls into four parts: The first part is to discussion the annotation of teaching design of music of junior high school. The second part explores the problems in the present design. The third part discusses the means of teaching designing of music at junior high school. The last part presents the challenge the music teachers faced in the process of teaching designing and inspiration to improve the teaching level.
