New Curriculum Standards put forward the targets of 3D subjective teaching: Knowledge and ability, process and method, emotion attitude and value. From this, it can be seen that students' emotional development is the indispensable factor of the language teaching. But, pursuing the mastery of knowledge persistently in current teaching, we neglect students'emotional development. Under the present situation of current educational reform, this condition has to present some new looks. However it don't get enough value because of implementing exam-oriented education. The teacher can't come close to students' mind and can't carry out emotional teaching by stimulating interest and developing students'emotion. It goes against the law of somatopsychic development of students and results in the humanistic imperfection of language teaching. Students will also lose interest in Chinese. It is thus clear that emotion has much function in the reading teaching. Through the quest to the emotion development, the thesis stresses the function of emotion in the reading teaching takes efficient measure to stimulate students'interest and promote the inform and development of advanced emotion and pays attention to emotional edification and the development of healthy emotion.The full thesis is divided into five parts:The first part: Defining the concept of emotion and emotional development put forward the emotion teaching. Through the comparison with concerning emotional concepts, the thesis further defines emotion meaning, elaborates the creation and development of emotional important function teaching and the fostering emotion in reading teaching. Thus it points out the necessity of emotional development.The second part: Elaborating the theoretical foundation of the occurrence and formation of the emotion phenomenon. Elaborate the theoretical foundation of emotion development from the psychological angle, mainly the theories of behaviorism of Waston and hierarchy of needs theory of Maslow. Emotional teaching theories abroad and at home provide support for fostering emotion.. Any theory should be put into practice and can get its value.The third part: The valuable function of emotion in reading teaching. The function is reflected in such aspects as motive function, infecting function and moving function etc. Especially motive function can activate corpus consciousness and beauty appreciation consciousness, life consciousness. Teachers should value these developing of functions especially in the reading teaching, make the student acquire an overall development and exaltation and analysis the necessity of fostering emotion.The fourth part: The strategy of fostering emotional development in the reading teaching. It mainly elaborates how to make use of the teaching strategy to stimulate students'emotion in reading teaching. The emotion comes from in many ways such as teachers, students, teaching material, teaching scene etc. Teachers should make full use of these factors and combine teaching fulfillment and stimulate the students'by reading ,appreciating and changing the mode of teaching interest to edify students. Fostering students'emotion can't be accomplished in one move, which has a long way. Teachers should strengthen the cultural accomplishment continuously in the teaching fulfillment, influence students imperceptibly, and make use of various teaching methods to stimulate students'interest. Thus students like Chinese, have a passion for the language. Their spirit is shaped, and the mind and body develops healthily.
