On The Cultivation Of The Human Spirit Of Contemporary Graduate

Being the higher stage of education,postgraduate education takes on the responsibility for training advanced talents for the construction of modernization,quality of which is closely related to the development and future of our nation as well as reflects the level of higher education. However,in the current cultivation of postgraduates,major knowledge is paid much attention to while education of humanist spirit is ignored. To improve quality of postgraduates and cultivate advanced innovative talents,both teaching of scientific knowledge and cultivation of humanist spirit should be put emphasis on.Elaborating first humanist spirit's definition and history, this thesis induces the connation in current times, and with the social current development, puts forward what humanist spirits that postgraduates should be equipped, which includes integrated knowledge structure, noble ideal, firm faith, right values, scientific spirit and healthy mentality. It is significant to strengthen postgraduate's cultivation of humanist spirit for the individual's all-round development and the society's harmonious development , which is also the natural tendency of educational development in the background of utilitarianism and technology,Next, the status quo of postgraduate's humanist spirit is analyzed. The lack of humanist spirit lies in absent ideal and faith,weak ethic value,overflowing individualism, deficient humanist knowledge, penurious innovative ability, imperfect mental quality and so on. The reasons for those problems are complex,both historically and currently. Postgraduates,as advanced talents,should progress with the times and adapt to the development of the times. Only to consolidate education of humanist spirit , postgraduate education can cultivate highly and integrated qualified talents for the society.
