| Postgraduate education is a systematic project, whose development is the result of many factors. Study of postgraduate cultivation capacity has theoretical and practical values in China. After chronological analysis about postgraduate education, the author defines postgraduate cultivation capacity as the degree to which the scale of qualified postgraduate can reach, with definite educational objectives, and abiding by rules of postgraduate cultivation, and supported by specific cultivation conditions. The system of postgraduate cultivation capacity is a subsystem of postgraduate education. Postgraduate cultivation capacity consists of systems, resources, and mechanisms. It shows the characteristics of objectivity, systematicness, adaptability, and developmentalness.Finally, referring to previous theoretical frameworks of postgraduate cultivation capacity, the author surveyed postgraduate cultivation capacity in ChongQing universities and colleges. Deficiencies of postgraduate cultivation capacity in ChongQing universities and colleges exist in systems and mechanisms, and resources. Aiming at these deficiencies, the author put forth four suggestions, i.e., macro-level systematic transformation, micro-level systematic innovation, culture of cultivation mechanisms, expansion of resources channels and improvement of quality. |
