China Women's Volleyball Players On Competition Clothing Color Preferences And Emotional Experience

Color applying in athletics sports has shown a remarkable significance for raisingutilization of stadium, ground and facilities, apparatus, adjusting athletes' mood,beautifying sport environment, promoting the interests of public doing exercise andenhancing performances. But at the same time litter color would have an impact onplayers' vision and psychology. Therefore, how to take advantage of the positiveeffect and avoid its negative effect, how to apply color in athletics sports reasonablyhave become an important topic.Based on the research of color in volleyball in order to enrich the theory of colorresearch in sports, to find sportswear color which is helpful for exerting players'athletics state, to supply consulting information for the trader to design and for theathletes to choose scientifically, for the athletics and coaches to apply colorscientifically and reasonably in volleyball teaching, training and competition, toprovide a basis for the sports organizer to consider sportswear color as one of theimpact factors of contests. This thesis have investigated players and coaches whoparticipated in the world female volleyball championship in 2006, with preference andemotional experience on sportswear color and their lucky color, by the method ofliterature materials survey, questionnaire survey, interviews, video recordingstatistics.The conclusions were shown as follows:(1)The preference of female volleyball players on the seven usual sportswearcolor is generally the same that they like red best, like green worst, like the othersbetter. The sequence of sportswear color preference from the best to the worst is thatred, yellow, dark blue, black, white, light blue, green. The preference of players onsportswear color can provide a reference for designing and choosing sportswear color,which is related to the physical characteristic of color, psychological effect of color onplayers, the cultural tradition of china and players' personality characteristics.(2)The emotional experience of female volleyball players on the seven usualsportswear color is generally the same that they feel red, yellow positive, greenneutral and negative, other colors neutral. The sequence of emotional experience frompositive to negative is that red, yellow, light blue, white, dark blue, black, green. The emotional experience of female volleyball players on sportswear color is related tophysiological and psychological effect of color on players.(3) The preference, emotional experience and lucky color of volleyball playerson sportswear color are accordant that they like fresh and bright color better, such asred, yellow, white, feel them neutral and positive and they regard them as lucky colorwhich have a higher probability of winning. This phenomena maybe is apsychological effect, which is related to preference, emotional experience and culturaltradition of color.(4) The influence of color on players is subconscious. Furthermore, techniqueand tactic are the decisive factor of contest win or lose, so the impact degree of coloris small, while the effect of color on players exist objectively and sportswear colorbring players some emotional states, which maybe have an effect on the athletics stateand achievements. Moreover litter color may have an impact on players' vision andpsychology, so we can't ignore the influence of color on players' psychology.
