Sierra Leone Athletics Development Status And Survey Analysis

This paper is written on the basis of the investigation and research through surveying questionnaires about the present situation and potential of track-and-field development in sierra leone, the analysis and discussions on the results of the above questionnaires, the good understanding of the existing problems with the matter in question and the evaluation of superiorities, disadvantages and the potential of the track-and field sports in this country. It also puts forward some positive countermeasures to solve the problems faced by the country in the development of its track-and-field events.Based on the reference of relevant materials expert consultation and target investigations and aiming at the above-mentioned reality of the matter, a conclusion is made as follows:1. Great importance should be attached to Sierra Leone track-and-field development, and fully support this event by providing enough manpower, material and financial resources, thereby promoting the healthy development of the sport's program.2. The level of remuneration and allowances for coaches, athletes and physical education teachers should be raised in schools and the government should strive to help the retired track-and-field athletes with their employment.3. More capital should be invested into the construction and maintenance of track-and-field infrastructures, so as to meet the needs of sport teams at all levels.4. Investment into research and development of track-and-field should be increased, thereby making it more attractive and profitable to athletes and the society as a whole.5. Sound suggestions for training are to be implemented in order to strengthen the capacity of new innovations, improve the skills of athletes, coaches and sport education planners.6. Sports, particularly track-and-field should be publicized to make people aware of the importance in society and to motivate them to participate in it.7. More attention should paid to the welfare of coaches, physical education teachers and athletes engaged in track-and-field for the purpose of rapidly upgrading the standards of track-and-field sports, the government should also take some practical steps, such as enhancing the scientific communication and talents exchange, selecting excellent athletes and drill-masters to study abroad and inviting well-known experts and coaches to give lectures or to be teachers.
