Mathematical concept understanding is one of the focus of the concentrations in recent research of mathematics education,the reasons lie in that mathematical concept understanding is one of the important aims of mathematical course and mathematical teaching. it also plays an important part on the development of mathematical study ability and mathematical attainments of the students. Therefore. teachers should not only pay attention to the mathematical understanding of students but also explore effective measures and strategies that improve the development of mathematical concept understanding of students actively.Adopting the methods of researching on the documents,the author summaries the development of the research on mathematical concept understanding, and basing on cognition theories and constructivism theories,the author not only analyses the meaning of mathematical concept understanding, but also carries on the qualitative analysis on the actuality of mathematical concept understanding in middle school by adopting observation in classroom-testing students'concept understanding ability and communicating with students and teachers.Basing on the work above, the author finds out that mathematical teachers are influenced by the factors such as subjective understanding about mathematical understanding, the objective assessment, etc, that is why some deficiencies exist in the teaching strategies that improve students mathematical concept understanding ability ,such as neglecting the autonomy and level of students'understanding.Aiming at the problem above, the author puts forward some concrete suggestions from the teaching strategy and the principle aspect systems by the classroom teaching actual situations toImprove the ability of understanding mathematical concept. And the author has confirmed the use of these suggestions by the teaching practices to anticipated that has the inspiration to teacher's research..
