In our traditional physics education in junior school, people paid special attention to the exams and the results. So the teaching methods are limited to teaching the students skills of exams, practicing plenty of exercises, training them some certain kinds of ways to solve the problems, remembering some certain methods, spending lots of time to write and practice, and so on. However, the students' imagination and creative ability can't be developed well in this kind of environment.Electro magnetism, one of the core courses in physics, has had attracted more and more scholars' interest, which partly reflects the importance of teaching electromagnetism in junior school. On the other hand, electromagnetism is different from dynamics, photics and calorifics. Each notion and rule in electromagnetism need to be understood from the very basic beginning. That is why it is much more difficult to learn it.Today, one of the features of modern science teaching is to emphasize understanding and changing the concept of teaching. That is to say, we should teach the students how to understand the knowledge, how to use the knowledge instead of just remembering the notions and the ways to gain high scores. At the end of the 1970s, one of the concerns in science teaching is to with conceptual change. There are many studies abroad about the theoretical background, conditions, and effect factors of conceptual change, and some great progress has been made in this field of study. In the 1980s, the conceptual change theory came into being. While in China, we have just begun in the field very recently, and more and more scholars are interested in it as time goes on.In this thesis, the factors which affect the students' conceptual change will be investigated and analyzed, with the aims to find better ways and strategies of teaching to help them study physics effectively. Besides, the suggestions for teachers in conceptual change are brought forward too. This is also to help improve the teachers' professionalism.
