On the analyzing and coordinating the relative literature, and using the former research for reference, also on the combination of questionnaires and conversation results, the researcher has written " the questionnaire on the adult self-education status of Radio and TV" in accordance with weaving principles and requirements. The research has selected 400 representatives from direct branch of Nanjing Radio and TV University, Qin huai subsidiary school of NRTU, Jian ye subsidiary school of NRTU, and has synthesized the self -education status of NRTU. Make an interview with some poor study-ability students, and analyze the situation according to the investigations and interviews, then give appropriate suggestions.Through integrated investigation and data analysis, the conclusion is educed as following:1. The self-education of adult students of NRTU is not very high.2. No prominent difference in school and specialty.3. There are prominent difference in education background, entrance terms,gender and ages. In the aspects of self-education ability, the undergraduate is distinctly better than junior college students, male students distinctly better than female students, students of grade three is much higher than those of grade one, two and four, and students of different ages increase by degrees from lower age to higher age.Therefore, the research put forwards the proposals on improving the self-education ability for the adult students of NRTU:1. University facilities: It should give the sufficient supports in hardware and software aspects to facilitate the self-education of the adult students.2. Teachers: For the adult education, the chief problem which should be studied and solved is to improve the teachers team, especially the accomplishment and profession ability. The researcher thinks the teacher for adult students should both have the normal ability of common teachers and the unique one for the adult students.3. Students: The students should pay attention to cultivate the interests for study, arrange reasonable time and learning process, make full use of resource and feed back the study results, etc.4. Teaching materials: Make the whole set of teaching materials adapting the adult education rule and establish the institute to specialize the adult teaching materials.5. Further management: Establish teaching information network, set up multiple information feedback channels, and extensively collect information, keep channels smoothly and pass quickly, find out quality problem in time, feed back and study countermeasure promptly, take precautions, make adjustments to keep accidents away, and steadily improve the teaching quality.
