Modern distance education in Television University is a part of the higher education. It is very important to the development of economy and the society stability of our country.The Sixteenth National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party encourage to build a harmonious and learning society and establish a life-long educational system.The theory give us the great chance to develop the modern distance education.In this paper ,It give much wider understanding of the harmonious and learning society,expatiate on the important function of the harmonious and learning society to the education ,and the Television University pay the great role in the harmonious and learning society.The article thinks that many Weakness still exsits in Modern distance education in Television University,for example: the mode of the education is based on the tradition;The teaching mode is not well at the request of society;The system of the course is not proper for the development of the society;The system of the Student's quantity guarantees is not perfect;The support service system of Modern distance education must to be enhanced.
