The Chinese national education curriculum reform starting from 2001 establishes a foothold that the students will adapt to modern life and the needs of future development, focuses on enhancing scientific literacy of citizens. As an important component of the scientific literacy, chemical ideas are what students developing lifelong learning needs, but also they reflect the value of the chemistry.The article chose "Preliminary research of Chemical Ideas in the high school" as research orientation. The main contents of the study divided into two aspects. In theory, we discuss the meaning of the chemical ideas, construct the system of chemical ideas of high school, and discuss the chemical ideas in the preparation of the new edition of textbooks. And in the investigation aspect, through questionnaire survey and interview we investigate the situation of understanding and the teaching implementation.Theoretical analysis and research shows that, the system of chemical ideas are based on content, based on approaches, and based on the value, and it will be able to basically cover the chemical knowledge of high school. The preparation of the new edition of textbooks not only can provide support for constructing ideas, and also embody the ideas of a staggered feature. Study also found that: (1) Public people can aware of some chemical phenomenon but not comprehensive and objective enough, and also they can remember some basic viewpoints, but their ability of actual problem-solving is weak.(2)Teachers' understanding about the chemical ideas is not comprehensive enough and deep enough. They had not systemically and synthetically make the instructional design according to chemical ideas. (3) Most students can aware of some chemical phenomenon better than public people, and can master some basic viewpoints better, too. But their ability of problem-solving is also weak.The results of researches and investigations give us inspiration and reflection. (1) Students' characteristics of the development of cognitive psychology and learning before is the foundation for constructing chemical ideas. (2)Based on chemical ideas to explore the instructional design is an important way to construct chemical ideas. (3)The improvement of teacher professional literacy is an important guarantee for constructing chemical ideas.
