With the implementation of the education reform in the new era, it is needed for the teacher to pay attention to students' individual differentiation and meet their diverse needs in study. In the practical teaching of information and technology in junior high school, students are dramatically different in basic skill, learning style and individual development, owning to various factors in the family, the school, the society and the student himself. However, junior high school students are generally assigned to the schools near to their houses, are divided into classes randomly and adopt the uniform teaching materials and curriculum standard. The extreme equality is in sharp contrast with students' individual difference.Differentiating teaching is a pedagogical theory that takes student's individual difference into consideration and implements teaching procedures in accordance with the difference, so that each student is promoted with his own individuality. In quality education, differentiating teaching well displays the educational charm of the "man-oriented". Hence, it is worth contemplating and researching, in the present educational system, how to carry out effective differentiating teaching in junior high school's IT class. After widely reading the relevant theories and researches in differentiating teaching and carefully considering the subject characteristics of junior high school's IT lessons, the author takes the first year junior high school students in Nanjing Zhenghe Foreign Language School as the subjects in this research, so as to form a differentiating teaching model of junior high school IT class. In practical teaching, the author designs the corresponding case according to the relevant theories and the above teaching model. Then test, revise and perfect it in practice. Under the background of information culture in China, the thesis explores the teaching model of differentiating teaching for junior high school's information technology class with Chinese characteristics, in hope to provide reference and suggestion to the teachers in front line.
