In the process of our social development, most of our activity is cooperative. From the perspective that education is to cultivate social needed people who are all-round developed, the cultivation of students' cooperation consciousness and ability is very important. From the present situation of higher education in our country, we find that most students lack of cooperation consciousness and ability,and they don't cooperate,don't know how to cooperate and be unwilling to cooperate,hold a negative attitude, and be suspected of cooperative learning.The main purpose of this research is to design the peer coaching model to improve university students' cooperative learning ability, learning from the experience of home and abroad, and based on the humanistic learning theory, behavioral learning theory, social learning theory, and cognitive delicate theory. By analyzing the questionnaire, the record of peer coaching process and students'assignments, we verified the efficiency of the model.In chapter one, firstly we introduced the research background, objective and the research contents, and then we mainly analyzed the current research of cooperative learning and peer coaching model, and then pointed out the weak and blank of the present research. At last we introduced the thought and limiting condition of the research.In chapter two, we elaborated on the definitions of cooperative learning and peer coaching, and introduced related theories of the cooperative learning and then analyzed the theoretical bases of peer coaching.In chapter three, we designed the peer coaching model in improving cooperative learning ability of university students, and introduced the research tools.In chapter four, we firstly introduced the subjects and the curriculum involved in the research, and then introduced the three-level peer coaching activity which is the main part of the model, and attached typical cases for detailed instructions. Then we processed and analyzed the data collected. By analyzing the questionnaires, record of peer coaching process, record of the interview with the students and with the teacher in each teaching unit, reflecting diaries, we studied the effectiveness of peer coaching on students'cooperation and learning.In chapter five, we summed up the conclusions and the guiding strategies for the peer coaching which can be referred to in future organization of cooperative learning. The major findings and conclusions of this research are as follows: 1. The participation enthusiasm of the boys is higher than that of the girls.2. Through peer coaching, we can build mutual respect and understanding relationship between peers.3. Peer coaching can facilitate the development of multi-intelligence so that those who are teaching and those who are been taught can benefit.4.There should be a certain goal for the peer coaching activity. Appropriate degree of difficult subject can help to enhance the students'enthusiasm on the cooperation and stimulate their potential abilities. 5. Peer-tutor should be trained in advance before the peer coaching activities. 6. Organizer should conduct psychological counseling for the peer-learner.7.During the activity, the organizer or the teacher must shoulder the supervisory and management tasks. 8. Should establish a set of common rules, and create benign mechanism of cooperation between the peers.9. Cooperation should be extended as far as possible, to provide sufficient time for students to reflect on the process. 10. After the activity, the teacher or the organizer should conduct evaluation of the whole activity.To sum up, through peer coaching model, we can improve cooperation learning ability of university students and promote the students' learning cooperation.
