Recently, with the development of economic globalization, the gradually expanding of opening policy, the gradually deep of our country economic pattern adjustment and the West Development, the ethnic group's thinking, behavior and life-style have a deep change, Besides, exotic culture has been graduatelly penetrating into ethnic territory, make ethnic tradition culture to be met with the most change. Face the powerful change, how ethnic territory deals with, is a big problem related to the development of our country ethnic culture. Bemzhu worship of Bai ethnic is the best example in the aspect. On the basis of previous relevant research, by researching the interaction between Bai culture in Erhai Lake region and exotic cultures, the thesis focuses on the change of Bemzhu worship in Erhai Lake region, in order to probe the developed trend of ethnic culture in the process of economic globalization.The thesis is composed of five chapters:Chapter One studies the origin of Benzhu worship as well as the background it came into being and its situation in the front period of Nanzhao Kingdom. The author proposes that of Benzhu worship originated from the primitive religion's worship of nature, ghosts, totems and ancestors(heroes) based on the study on ancestors of Bai people's worship of nature, ghosts, totems and ancestors(heroes) plus the study of remaining of primitive religion in Bai people's Benzhun worship. Elaborating the social background of Benzhu worship by Benzhu worship's geographical culture features, temporal stage of religious development and temporal religious condition. The feature for the beginning period of Benzhu worship lies on that it preserved many features of primitive religions in terms of the objects of worship, the function of Benzhu god, sacrifices rites et cetera.Chapter Two is mainly on the situation of Benzhu worship in its developing period——from the middle period of Nanzhao Kingdom to Dali Kingdom. The above period witnessed the predominant position of noble culture and the spreading of Buddhism,Taoism and Confuctian culture, as a national religion after Erhai Lake region entered into the feudal serfdom society. Benzhu worship showed its noble and religious characteristics.Chapter Three mainly introduces the situation of Benzhu worship in its peak period——Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. In the beginning of Yuan Dynasty, a large number of Han people settled in Erhai Lake region due to the expanding of land transaction, a great number of land-possessing farmers came into being and the thriving of folk culture besides the enforcement of Tuntian policy. In the middle of Ming Dynasty the population of Han people surpassed local ethnics, Han culture, represented by Confucianism became the mainstream, the worship of Benzhu started to develop towards more folk and Confucian.Chapter Four discusses the situation of Benzhu worship in its declining period——late Qing Dynasty till 1980s. In this period, Chinese religions situation changed dramatically because of the declining of feudal society, invasion and war started by imperialism and pinko policy. Benzhu worship declined, its believers, sacrificing places and rites take a more family scene.Chapter Five focuses on the society background and situation of Benzhu worship in its revitalization and further development period——after 1980s. In this period, the policy on freedom of religious belief was carried out, thus Benzhu worship began to revitalize. It began to develop towards more secularized, entertaining and commercialized.To conclude, firstly, Benzhu worship formed in cultural interaction, innovation and absorbing exotic culture are indispensable. Secondly, Benzhou worship provides an example of how to develop minority cultures in the background of modernization and globalization, namely, absorbing the excellence of exotic cultures without dispensing traditional minority culture.
