Bai ethnic group, one of the Chinese minority nationalities, living in Dali, YunnanProvince, has formed a whole set knowledge system from their long-living cultural andnatural system, and their knowledge system was passed down from generation togeneration, Benzhu worship is one of their means. Benzhu worship is a unique folk beliefof Bai ethnic group, a typical local knowledge. During several hundred years of processing,from its emerging, development to change, in a certain degree, Benzhu worship can playthe function of realizing ethnic group identity, passing on national culture, raisingcommunity members, enhancing the human ability to adapt the environment and othereducating functions. Local knowledge is draw from a certain cultural space and time, inwhich people developed this kind of knowledge according to natural and socialenvironment they lived in. This thesis analyzes the Benzhu worship as “the localknowledge” of the Bai people in Dali, Yunnan Province and discusses how Benzhuworship constructs and continues this local knowledge. From the perspective of knowledgemanagement, this thesis discusses how the Bai ethnic, without their own writing system, torealize the passing down of their experience, cultural transmission and national identity.And this thesis then to conclude and prove the tactics of the knowledge management of Baiethnic’s Benzhu worship.There are a lot of research findings of Bai ethnic group in Dali at home and abroad,however, it is an innovation point of this thesis to study the cultural integrating functionand knowledge sharing, forming mechanism of Benzhu worship from the perspective ofKnowledge management, which is also a bran-new attempt.
