| Researches concerning theories and applications of auto learning are booming, but most of them are connected with classroom environment, leaving great space for researchers on the English autonomous learning of middle school students in the web-based environment. So I choose the topic–the cultivating of English autonomous learning capability of high school students after school in the web-based environment. From the perspective of the combination of theory and practice, this paper discussed how to cultivate high school students'ability of English autonomous learning in the Web-based environment. Firstly, the author described the definition, development history and theoretical foundations of autonomous learning, and analyzed the abundant resources and advantages that could be provided in the Web-based environment. Through questionnaires, the author analyzed the possibility and necessity of cultivating high school students'ability of autonomous learning Based on the theory of English autonomous learning, with the purpose of developing satisfactory environment for English self-access learning, combining the environment of high school English teaching, this paper designed a system for high school students'English autonomous learning, and introduced the integral parts of it: the students'subsystem, the teachers'subsystem, task management system and multimedia supporting system. Then, this paper analyzed and summarized the preliminary implementation of the system, finding that it embodied the individualization of teachers'instruction and students'learning in a self-access learning environment. In the end, the author proposed some suggestions on how to improve high school students'ability of English autonomous learning in the Web-based environment. |
