A full developed person needs autonomous learning ability. To develop students’ autonomous learning ability is the requirement of life-long learning. With the implement of curriculum reform, developing students’autonomous learning ability became an important goal at English teachers’teaching aims. This dissertation firstly discusses the connotation of autonomous learning and defines what autonomous learning ability is, then points out the problems in developing students’autonomous learning ability. In order to help those English teachers who facing the problems in developing students’ autonomous learning ability, the author gives some suggestions about how to solve these problems in the end of this dissertation.This dissertation is divided into four parts to analyze the problems in developing middle school students’autonomous learning ability and discuss how to solve these problems. The first part of this dissertation is introduction. It introduces the background of autonomous learning in China, the meaning of this research, research methods and the researches about developing students’autonomous learning ability at home and aboard. The second part of this dissertation is about the definition of autonomous learning ability and the theoretical basis of autonomous learning. The author points out the problems in developing students’autonomous learning ability in the third part and gives some advice about how to solve these problems in the forth part. |
