Teacher attrition is an action or process of gradually reducing the strength or effectiveness of teachers through sustained attack or pressure. According to its reasons, its types are demonstrated in detail into strength-type, value-type, knowledge-type, skill-type and environment-type.Strategies of American teacher education toward teacher attrition are ascertained from five aspects. Teacher education must firstly shape teachers' value to establish identity and responsibility of teachers, secondly develop teachers' knowledge to help teachers overcome complexities of teaching, thirdly tamp teachers' skills to create professional teaching excellence, fourthly strengthen presidents' leadership to create a good professional environment and finally reinforce quality control of teachers to ensure teacher retention. All five strategies above make teachers stronger to withstand attack or pressure during working, therefore intensify teachers' effectiveness to prevent teacher attrition.American teacher education sets down a whole-aspect strategic system toward teacher attrition. More deep research proved to be useful to prevent and resolve teacher attrition which is corroding teachers' effectiveness all around the world.
