The Study, Based On National Security, National Defense Education

National security has always been the fundamental premise of a country's existence and development. With the end of the Cold War, the arrival of the era of globalization, science and technology development and progress of civilization, the world has entered a new epoch, which is diversified, fast-paced and complicated. Against this background, the traditional conception of national security has dramatically changed. It has both expanded in contents and deepened in connotation. It also has a trend of integrating to a system of systems.How to deal with this change, to adapt to the new era, to adapt to the new environment, is the issue that every country in the world has to be faced of. As the world's most populous and the only ancient civilization which continues to present, China is in a crucial period of reforming and opening up and socialist modernization drive, confronting with complex and changeable outer-environment and the mission of reforming, developing and constructing modern society. Therefore, performing and reforming the defense education of the universities are both a significant part of our higher-education and the essential factor of maintaining national security, promoting the army-people's integration and conquering the people's war of the new era.Based on the total objective of constructing the harmonious society of socialism and the inner and outer environment that our country is confronting, this thesis inspects the new requirements demanded by the adjustment of our national security and national benefit of the new era, points out the reforming content and the goal of the defense education of our universities. On this basis, this thesis raises the route of constructing the defense education in the universities on the background of harmonious society, puts forward three requirements: following the need of the national security, following the evolving of warfare and following the particular condition of the country.
