With the development of Quality Education and progress of Curriculum Reform, differentiations among students have been attached great importance. So have the differentiated instruction. As one of the most basic natural differences of human kind, Gender difference should be taken as an important perspective of differentiated instruction. But it is often overlooked in tradition mode of education. This paper will begin by analyzing psychological differences between men and women, then focus on discussing gender differences in chemistry learning, and finally put forward the definition, basic ideas and strategies of differentiated chemistry instruction in the perspective of gender. This paper can be divided into the following four parts:Part One: Introduction. It will briefly introduce the paper's values and current studies.Part Two: Main aspects of psychological gender differences and explaining theories. It will begin by discussing main gender differences in both cognition and emotion and then talk about the values of these findings to instruction as well as the limitations to be aware of when putting those differences into practice. Then it will discuss physical and psychological theories that try to explain those differences and three major categories those theories can be divided into.Part Three: Gender differences in chemistry learning. It will discuss gender differences in chemistry learning from the aspects of attitudes to chemistry learning, chemical problem solving and ways of learning.Part Four: Definition, basic ideas and strategies of differentiated chemistry instruction in the perspective of gender. It will start by briefly introducing definitions of differentiated instruction at home and abroad followed by comparisons between the definition of differentiated instruction and other concepts. Then it will discuss the basic ideas of differentiated instruction from five aspects. Finally it will put forward four strategies of differentiated instruction in the perspective of gender.
