Since the universities expanded the scale of the recruitment,the employment of college students becomes more and more serious.The year 2013 was dubbed the hardest year for job-hunting,since then, the severe employment situation had not been eased, but became increasingly fierce. The employment situation of female college students is more difficult in the race because of their gender.Many scholars have done some research on the employment of college students mainly with quantitative method in the past.Although the capital’s impact on college students’ employment could be realized,but most research were conducted in the perspective of human capital and social capital,the view is unitary.Capital, not only,including human capital and social capital,but also the cultural capital, economic capital and symbolic capital are involved.Combined analysis is needed to ensure no deviation.Some scholars have found the significant differences between male and female students on employment on the basic of the research about the overall employment of college students,However, most of the researches are just at the stage of description, no in-depth analysis to explore its essence. So the research in the past is still inadequate.In order to make up for the shortcomings of the previous studies, also to promote the equality between male and female college students.This study makes a research on the gender differences of college students’ employment with the method of literature research, questionnaire and interview in the perspective of bourdieu’s theory of capital.It is found that there really exists obvious gender differences in employment expectation,employment process and employment results between male and female college students.In general, the employment situation of female college students is more severe than that of male college students.Because the research proves that the capital of female college students is not weaker than male college students, the difference is proved to be unreasonable, and gender discrimination still exists in the field of college students’ employment.The reason is that male symbol in employment has an absolute advantage, that is, men have symbolic capital, have the power to make rules.Female can only be forced to accept these rules, and in a state of unconsciousness on their own oppression in the habit’s effect.Therefore, the female even participate in the reproduction of male dominated power with the male subjectively,which resulting in the "gender inequality" in the employment of university students in the field difficult to change.Based on this, in order to promote equality in employment fundamentally, we need to make the society realize that the gender inequality under the discipline of "symbolic violence", thus contributing to the emancipation of mind and the enlightened understanding in the society.Therefore, this paper puts forward some suggestions from the aspects of social, education and female college students,hoping to get rid of the "symbol", to give the male and female students a free space for development, to promote equal employment between men and women, and really eliminate the gender discrimination in the field of employment.
