With the adjustment of employment policy of university graduates and the rapid expansion of the scale of Higher Education, the Postgraduates'employment situation is becoming more and more serious. And the difference of employment situation among different disciplines is much larger. The Postgraduates'employment situation is the most serious one among the Literary and Historical postgraduates'. The reason why the postgraduates of Pedagogies are difficult to find jobs is closely linked with their concept of careers. So the research on the concept of careers which the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold is of great theoretical and realistic significance.The main research questions include these: What is on earth the present situation of their concept of careers the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold? Based on the present situation, what characteristics and problems do we reveal about the concept of careers the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold? Which factors influence their concept of careers the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold? How do we help the postgraduates of Pedagogies change the concept of careers and solve the problems existing in their concept of careers? On the basis of taking the advice of my tutor and the postgraduates of Psychology and by means of documentary study, the author summarizes the basic factors of the concept of careers, they are: career motions, career consciousness, career expectations and career attitudes. Then based on these factors, we try to perfect the pattern which the psychological processes of the concepts of careers use, and build a research and operation pattern; By means of the methods of documentary study, questionnaires, interviews, I have investigated more than 400 postgraduates of Pedagogies (including enrolled graduates and past graduates) and some tutors to know the present situation of the concept of careers the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold. Then we try to reveal the characteristics and problems in the concept of careers held by the postgraduates of Pedagogies from the aspect of career motions, career consciousness, career expectations and career attitudes respectively, and put forward some countermeasures.The findings of study are: the characteristics of the concept of careers the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold in Shanghai area include: the strong emotion of choosing a career, the falling of demand of for entering a higher school, the particular emphasis on self-development in choosing a career , and yearning for combining self-development and the contribution to society; the clear consciousnesses of choosing a career, the dim consciousness of positioning, the flexibility of career orientation; their career expectation tending to rationalization, their career focus gradually dropping down, the lack of the employment instruction; the active attitudes of choosing a career, the increasing motivation and adaptation of choosing a career, the reluctance to share career information. According to our analysis, we find that there mainly exits these problems in the concept of careers the postgraduates of Pedagogies hold: the wrong region in the incentive of entering a higher school, the tend to utility in the career value, the wrong region in the consciousness of positioning, the lower degree of sharing career information, the higher expectation towards the employment instruction in the higher schools. So by means of the factor analysis, the author summarizes the five main factors affecting the concept of careers held by postgraduates of Pedagogies in Shanghai area. Then on the basis of these five factors, he puts forward some countermeasures to help them change the concept of careers and solve the problems existing in their concept of careers, in order to promote the employment of the postgraduates of Pedagogies, advance the development of the Pedagogies discipline and promote the employment instruction in higher schools.
