Professional information and knowledge acquisition,as important components in learning, is of great importance to postgraduates majoring in physical education teaching and training since the accumulation and storage of professional information and knowledge can enrich their theoretical knowledge and structure, enhance the possibility to make practice, thus improving their ability to analyze and solve problems and finally developing good habits on their own initiative. The acquisition of professional information and knowledge, one of the most important activities to cultivate postgraduates, is a key to improve the quality of physical education teaching.The progression of information and knowledge is a leap from perceptual knowledge to rational knowledge. With the rapid development of science and technology, it is necessary and urgent to make a thorough study on the status of the acquisition of the professional information and knowledge among postgraduates, especially the ones majoring in volleyball.This paper is concerned about the research on the circumstances of acquisition of professional information and knowledge among postgraduates, based on follow-up investigations conducted in five universities offering the course concerning physical education teaching and training which are Nanjing Normal University, Suzhou University, East China Normal University, Zhejiang University, Ningbo University.Many methods have been exploited in the investigation such as questionnaire, literature,mathematical statistics, expert interview and logical analysis, etc. The content fall on the following aspects:(1) cultivating mode of acquisition of professional information and knowledge for both academic and professional postgraduates majoring in volleyball;(2) ways to acquire professional information and knowledge;(3) analysis on the progression of professional information and knowledge;(4) analysis on the factorsresulting in the deficiency of progression. In the hope to help teachers with the teaching on the acquisition of professional information and knowledge, senior leaders have incorporated it into educational and teaching activities with high attention attached, due to its limited access to information and practice, slow progression and weak consciousness of teamwork.The results are as follows: professional information and knowledge as the guide is in existence with certain correlation with its progressive effects acceptable; the delay of professional knowledge and information is a bit longer with little deviation, indicating the process of progression has been received; expansion of professional information and knowledge is not prominent with an average integration, implying that progressive effects are acceptable; information and knowledge is mainly acquired through professional courses, which means that class hours should be extended to guarantee progression; virtually, there are several differences between knowledge and information;there are chances for the improvement in the progression, which depends upon initiatives. Besides, suggestions are put forward to enhance postgraduates’ ability to acquire professional information and knowledge: develop a complete system of Volleyball Course; speed up the speed of progression of information and knowledge;strengthen the guidance of scholars; transform the motives to acquire professional information and knowledge; develop good habits to acquire professional information and knowledge, thus eliminating the resistance in the process of progression; develop the ability to study autonomously to enhance the comprehensive progression of information and knowledge.
