Recent years, with the gradual deepening of education reform, the basic education of China is going through from the "modern-times-type school" to "modern-type school" transformation. In this transformational change of the process of teaching and research, cultural connotation of the school will also get the profoundly changes. How to cultivate a culture of excellent teaching and research group is becoming a topic of common concern. However, in recent years, teaching and research group culture cultivation, man-made traces of co-operation is too thick, too much emphasis on co-operation lead to a teacher who had a crowd mentality of competition that should be only co-operation among teachers and should not be competition. With the impact of this understanding, some teachers lost their passion and power at work, and even had deformed the teaching and research group culture.At this moment, we need to re-think and position the value of teaching and research group culture purport: a new teaching and research group culture should be democratic and open, should be a culture of cooperation and competition in the teaching and research group culture of cultural coexistence.Competition culture is one kind of teaching and research group culture. It is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it can stimulate the enthusiasm of the group members and play an active role in promoting. On the other hand, it could also result in deterioration of relations between members, and catch in the quagmire of vicious competition. This culture of competition mentioned of the new teaching and research mainly refers to a culture of healthy competition. It can stimulate the teacher's motivation to improve their motivation; create a harmonious atmosphere for teaching and research to protect the teacher's enthusiasm; help teachers reflect on the control and improve their own inadequacies; muster the collective strength, and raising the collective competitiveness. At the same time, we should also noted that: a culture of competition is inseparable from a culture of cooperation, and culture of cooperation is the ultimate end-result of a competition culture. The dialectical relationship between the two is the unity of opposites.Referring the researching on the grown competitive advantages and problems of culture of the S school, this thesis puts forward some suggestions on how to cultivate a culture of competition within the new teaching and research group recommendations.I believe that a cooperation and competition teaching and research group environment, which is solidarity, harmonious and equality, will lead people to feel comfortable with boundless confidence.
