National culture, a wealthy heritage created, accumulated and inherited in the changing process of various ecological environment and histories, possessing rich educational content and unique educational value, is the driving source of development for each nation.National culture is a national real kernel related to the survival and development of the whole nation. During the process of economic globalization, national culture is subsequently alienating and perishing. Therefore, protecting the national culture is becoming the common focus for the community, especially school education, the main way to make "human" culturalized in the modern society. However, as a foreign island, school education in minority regions forms a cultural environment different from the ethnic communities, which makes the students both in schools and communities difficult to find a balance between the two cultures, and that hence generates cultural estrangement. To offer students a harmonious cultural environment and to achieve the cultural continuum between schools and communities, school education in minority regions may resort to the development and utilization of educational resources in the national culture. In this way, the purposes of protecting and inheriting national culture and eliminating the cultural alienation between schools and communities can be achieved. In order to have a close look at the current situation of development and utilization of the national culture in schools of minority areas, this thesis specially selects Zhoucheng, the largest natural gathering village of Bai nationality in China, as an example. The research finds out that the unique culture of Bai nationality is its religious and tie-dye culture, and the people of Bai nationality in Zhoucheng is of national representativeness due to the high ethnic homogeneity. Its culture is inclusive, integrated into the Bai material, spirit and institution, fully reflected in Bai's clothing, food, shelter, transportation, religion and other daily life, and which have rich available education resources, important in maintaining the harmonious development of individual and nature, individual and society, and individual and themselves. Because of the relatively weak idea and poor theoretical knowledge of development and utilization of national culture as well as lack of support on national culture, school education is lack of development and utilization of Bai nationality culture. Simultaneously, the other main reasons are that there exist unitarity and narrow understanding of the "basic education" in the school education of Zhoucheng, neglect of "cultural continuity", unreasonable evaluation value-orientation and lacks the awareness of protecting and transmitting the national culture. Therefore, from the dual perspectives of "Being" and "Culture" of educational anthropology, by means of multicultural education theory and the duality theory of national education, this thesis puts forward that schools in minority regions should extend the vision for basic education, fulfill the duality of school education, link the culture of communities and schools, establish a multi-evaluation system and a sense of protecting and transmitting the national culture. Only in this way can school education apply to minority regions.
