In Blau-Duncan's status attainment model and other relative researches, education was used as the media mechanism of stratum reproduction. And in the aspect of measure method, those studies didn't make a precise category for different type of education variable, or transform it into a scale variable, educational year, which neglects the difference of "gold content" of diploma of the students who have the same education level, and also those students have different study motivation and occupational expectation, which would lead to a significant impact on their career. The present research suppose that the school tracking of key middle school would produce distinguish influence to people's occupational attainment. Those who once studied in a key middle school, contain key junior high school and key high school, would get a higher education and attain advantages to enter into the upper stratum. The data comes from the "China General Social Survey (CGSS2003)". Researcher uses multinomial logistic regression method to test the hypotheses, and finds that, those who studied in key middle schools can get a higher educational level and more odds ration to enter into the professional or managers stratum, educational attainment is the media mechanism for school tracking affect occupational status attainment. Comparatively speaking, in the aspect of educational attainment, whether studied in a key junior high school had more important effects than key high school. However, in the process of occupational attainment, the effects of key high school stand out. No matter what school people studied in the stage of junior school, once they got the high school education, the effects of key junior high school would be not important. The higher education can compensate the disadvantage of lower school tracking.
