Central Asian Uighur Identity

This paper based on the field work of three Uighur communities in Kazakhstan,to analyse the identity status of the Central Asian Uighurs.Content, the first chapter is an introduction, reviewed identity theory and the Central Asian Uighurs identification Study Situation, overviewed fieldwork location. The second chapter is combed the Central Asian Uighurs migration process,discussed the motives of their immigrate into Central Asia, and described Central Asian Uighur cultural adaptation. The third and four chapters is the key point.In chapter third, use the description of ethnographic-style methods, adopt interpretive anthropology concepts-cultural carrier of "self" expression, explain the regional identity, ethnic identity and national identity of the Central Asia's Uighurs; analysis the feature of their identity polybasic, scene and hierarchical; discuss the scene and method of their identity construct and maintain.In the fourth chapter, focus on the affect of Central Asia's thnic group demarcate, national policy and interaction between ethnic groups. Believe that Central Asia's thnic group demarcate had awakened the consciousness of the Central Asia's Uighurs, the interaction strengthened its ethnic identity,national policy had a double impact on the ethnic identity and national identity of Central Asian Uighurs. In last chapter, discussed the Central Asian Uighurs identity formed reasons.The conclusion is that, as a history·of a foreign people, geographically frontier people, politically marginalized vulnerable immigrant groups, the Central Asian Uighurs were "stigmatized" in the fierce competition for resources,In this context, the Central Asian Uighurs have to change their identity to be "insiders", for equal enjoyment of resourcesand get live space.
