With the rapid development of economic and society, as well as the continuous deepening reform of higher education, the college more and more emphasis on students'ideological and political education. However, in the new historical conditions, thinking and behavior of university students have undergone tremendous changes, there learning, employment, economic, psychological and so are faced with new situations and new problems, which brought a new challenge to the ideological and political education, requires that we continue to innovate with the times, adopt new approaches to meet the students needs in their growth process. College is an area which cultivates students, to cultivate innovative talents on the need for innovative methods of ideological and political education, which is of great significance for improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education.Reference theory and methods of group social work, is an effective way to innovate and explore the method of ideological and political education. Introduce group social work to ideological and political education in colleges and universities, to better work for college students to help them solve some common problems faced, and promote their overall development. Second outline the meaning and mode of social work groups, analyze its linked with the ideological and political education, the idea of group-based social work role and functions, the introduction to the ideological and political education. Third discusses the necessity and feasibility of the introduction of group-based social work. in ideological and political education. The ideological and political education in colleges and universities to introduce group-based social work, contribute to the ideological and political education, ideas, methods, models and innovation in the ranks of ideological and political education, the interlinked nature of ideological and political education in colleges and universities and group social work, as well as the existence of the college classes, community and student apartment communities have provided preconditions of group social work introduction.
