Autonomous District Daliangshan is in the southwest corner of SiChuan Province.The Daliangshan mountains are primarily inhabited by the Chinese ethic Yi minority,and also,the Yi Culture is kept and inherited well in this area.The number of the Yi Women shares half of the nation's population,so,to know about the Yi Nation better,the investigation of the Yi Women is necessary.In this thesis,I will try to analyze the development of the Yi Women.Before Writing,I have read a lot of books about the Yi Culture,and by doing so,I know more about the details of the Yi Society and the Yi People.It is clear that to avoid misunderstanding I should express the Culture of the Yi Women based on the background of the Yi Culture.Then,I went to Daliangshan mountains and carried on a lot of investigations.By doing so,it was coming clear what I want to express.As to the structure of the thesis,I first introduce about the Yi Nation and the Yi Women,so the readers can have a general ider about them.Then I try to analyze the development of the Yi Women in four different periods.The last part lists the problems which still exist in the development of Yi Women and give my private ideas of how to solve the problems.The present work will be structureed as follows:Chapter One introduce about the Yi Nation and the Yi Women.Chapter Two is about the introduction of Yi Culture in the matriarchal clan society.Chapter Three express the Culture of Yi Women in the slave society.Chapter Four is a introduction about the Culture of the Yi Women after China's Democratic Reform.Chapter Five is a description of the changes happening to Yi Women after the adoption of reform and opening-up policy.Chapter Six lists the problems exists in the development of Yi Women and give some suggestions.The last part of the thesis is a summary of the present study and also I will enclose some interview records.
