Parent Education Training And Research, Recently Promoted By The British Government

With the global development of the technological economy in 21 century, the communication between cultural groups becomes conveniently and the values of different culture begin to conflict. Individual has to face the challenge of different value views when getting over the stress of the economy. This terribly influences parents'attitude and behavior, which would further affect parents'concept of education. As a new subject and a new profession, Parenting Education has developed very fast. However, the main approach of Parenting Education is educational training. This paper aims to implore the experience of Parenting Education guided by British government and provides possible advice to the development of Parenting Education in China.The paper has four parts. The first part described the history and background of Parent Education in England and discussed the need of Parent Education Training in British society from the perspective of parents. The second part analyzed the institutional situation, basing on that Parent Education Training can be fluently carried out in British society. It include the policy of Parenting Education in Britain and the organization as well as the qualification of working as a Parenting Practitioner. To further understand the operation of parenting education and training practice, the third part focused on the British Government's recent initiatives of parenting education and training. It analyzed the background of National academy of Parenting practitioner and the specific development strategy of research, implementation and training evaluation. However, the Sino-British cultural backgrounds produced different ideas on parenting education, so the fourth part based on conceptual differences in both cultures to seek the useful experience of parenting education and training in Britain,l earning from the proper way to value parenting education, the positive attitudes toward the ability of parents'self-teaching and the effective management of parenting education and training.
