Realization Of Embedded Snmp Agent And Management Station

In current society, network has been used widely in various fields. Many social service be provided through network system. Most of our work involve network application. Network system bring us not only convenience to work and lives but also amusement. So it's important to maintain the network system's robust function and to promote it's utilization. SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) is one kind of successful network management protocol,which be used mostly in IP network. It be designed very simple and powerful. The research of embedded SNMP Agent also proceeds well. There are two main streams of developing SNMP Agent. The first is open source SNMP Agent software package. It can be transplanted to other embedded OS easily and it can be extended by user's demand, like ucd-snmp. The second is SNMP unit of embedded OS, like vxworks windnet's SNMP. Our embedded SNMP Agent is different from both of them. The agent based on DeltaOS, but it's not assembled in IDE. In order to transplant the Agent to other embedded OS, we use system macro to replace calling the OS function directly. In this way the entity of SNMP Agent has no OS-related calling.We improved the design of Agent and TCP/IP stack. DeltaOS has one special TCP/IP stack for SNMP. It has not TCP flow controlling and verification. It also be modified to improve the speed of operating SNMP UDP message.A whole embedded SNMP system includes Agent and Manager.In the paper, we discuss the design of embedded SNMP Agent and MIB Compiler. We also introduce the design of Manager, which be used for the Agent specially. Finally, we discuss the design and implementation of fiber network management system, which is one application of embedded SNMP system.
