The airborne radar system widely has real-time data transfer among eachequipments inside the radar system, and such has between the radar system and theequipments in the aircraft. This dissertation discusses mainly the hardware design ofa special multi-function interface board through which different devices accordingwith different protocol standard realize real-time data transmission.Firstly, the thesis briefly introduces the special interface board's background andthe detailed demands according to the actual needs of the real-time data transmissionamong different devices in this airbrone radar system. Secondly, the thesis hascompleted the comparision in hardware designing methods between the using ofFPGA to realize the transmission protocol and using special protocol chips to realizethe conversion of different protocols. And, an outstanding introduction is given tothe latter method. Based on the demands of the system, the chips are choosed whichsupport ARINC429, HDLC, PCI bus protocols and the introduction of their basiccharacteristics is given. Here, the special interface board's function has beenachieved by using FPGA to master those chips as above. At last, the testing resultsof the special interface board and analysises have also been given.
