University Library Digital Reference Service

The author discusses digital reference services in university libraries in this thesis.The thesis is divided into four chapters:In the first chapter, the author introduces the meanings of digital reference service, the main characteristics of digital reference service, the development of digital reference service, and compares the differences between digital reference service and traditional reference service.In the second chapter, the author indicates the importance for the university libraries to develop digital reference service, and presents the general situation in university libraries' digital reference services.In the third chapter, the author analysis the core problems for digital reference services of university libraries, which are reference librarians, information resources, user, service management and technology.In the end, the author provides the measures to promote digital reference service in university libraries, which include enforcing knowledge right protection, enhancing reference librarians' cultivation, deploying confederative reference, and together acquiring advanced technology to support reference services...
