Measuring i s t o collect, transform, and dispose the physical quantity t hrough acertain instrument or device. Measuring system is. an entity system which is built tocomplete a measuring task. In traditional grinding process, workers depended onexperience and handled the grinding wheel to control the progress. The productsproduced in this way always had bad coherence, instable quality, and were prone towasters. We can adopt the active measuring technique to solve this problem. Activemeasuring technique which is also called online measuring technique is a sort ofautomatic measuring used in machine tool and machining facility. Smart activemeasuring system is the very system: it is measuring the dimension of the workpieceall the while, and transfer the movement of the dimension to the controller at the sametime, and then, the controller sends out the command signal to control the machine tool,such as rude grind, fine grind, smooth grind and terminal signal. Since there is no needto power off the machine during the process of measuring, it can reduce the workforce,heighten the production efficiency, depress the waster rate, and better the productcoherence. This kind of system is very suitable for the product pipelining which needshuge batches, such as auto components, axletree parts and so on.This subject is sourced from an item of important laboratory named: thedevelopment and application of grinder active measuring system, which is also acooperative item between our university and an axletree factory. The task of the subjectis to develop a smart active measuring system includes sensor part, signal conditioningpart and control part. Ensure it can meet the requirements of precision, stabilizationand economy, and also can match with the existing drive equipment and grinder.In this system, differential inductance sensor is designed as the sense organ,which transfer the tiny displacement movement into continuing inductance, and then constructs a bridge circuit combined with the subsidiary winding of a transformer,whose original winding is introduced an excitation voltage. The output voltage fromthe bridge was carried into the input terminal of A D598. A DS7812 was adopted toperform the analog-to-digital function. The control system whose core was ATM89S52was designed to control the date collecting, disposing, transmit and display, and isresponsible to send instruction to executing organ.Module design method was adopted in the software system, main program callsthe subsystems that implement the module function to accomplish system function.The characteristic and error of the system are analyzed, at the same time therepetition, the precision and the linearity are measured. This system meets therequirements basically.Along with the rapid development of machining industry and auto industry, tooland axletree corporations need some accurate, rapid and economy active measuringequipment urgently. This subject is an applied item.
