Relative Income And Happiness

The sense of happiness is an important indicator to measure the happiness of a country’s national life.Income satisfaction is an important influencing factor to the national happiness.At present, China is in stable and rapid development stage, the existing development pattern caused by China’s western development is uneven, and the status quo of the large gap between the rich and the poor. This situation will lead to specific groups of lower happiness, current income satisfaction decreased. People with this kind of mental state easily become social instability, not only affect social harmony environment in our country, but also related to the future development of China’s long-term stability.In the recent ten years, the government constantly pay attention to the urban poverty population, to impose welfare benefits at the same time, also for the low-income groups in rural areas, to develop a number of agricultural policies and a variety of preferential policies, and so on. The government has taken various measures to increase the income of low-income groups, narrowing the development gap between urban and rural, control prices, national security have plenty of disposable income. The domestic and foreign scholars are constantly exploring happiness and income’s relationship, and diversified research methods, research object, research to optimize the model more precise. Provide guidelines and strategies to improve the national well-being for governments in order to give advice and suggestions for the people having a happy life. From the deconstruction of the impact of income satisfaction factors, this paper puts forward a calculation of income satisfaction of absolute income and relative income, relative income transverse relative income and longitudinal relative to income, a total of three types of income. This paper tries to explore the influence of three different types of income on income satisfaction. From the urban and rural communities, this paper intends to explore the impact of three different income categories on income satisfaction. And then return to the most original problem in this discussion, income satisfaction, income and happiness of the relationship among the three. Income satisfaction is a indispensable factor point to happiness, but the income and relative income can also be directly used as factors affecting the well-being.With the help of 2005 and 2011 China general social survey(CGSS) data analysis explored, which began in 2003, China’s first national, comprehensive, continuous academic research project. Through the analysis found that income and relative income and income satisfaction showed positive correlation relationship; relative income and longitudinal relative income and income satisfaction is related, transverse relative income to the income satisfaction influence is greater. Income satisfaction and happiness is positively related. For China’s policy adjustment is inspired not only focus on growth from the time dimension of the national income, also need to pay attention to the relative income, narrowing the income gap between rich and poor, improve the national well-being.
