An Empirical Study On The Development Level Of New Urbanization In

This thesis has made a detailed analysis on the development status and existing problems of New-type Urbanization of Tianjin, considering various factors of economic development, industrial structure, employment, population, quality of residents’life, infrastructure construction, resources and environment, and finally selects 5 primary indicators and 32 secondary indicators to construct an evaluation index system of development level of New-type Urbanization for Tianjin. The indicators includes:GDP per capita, the proportion of secondary and tertiary industry, urbanization rate, household disposable income per capita, Engel coefficient, the proportion of social security and employment expenditure, the proportion of health expenditure, the proportion of environmental expenditure, per capita investment in fixed assets, per capita green area of park, urban sewage treatment rate, air quality rate, etc. This article has made an empirical research by using the evaluation index system above to analyze the development level of New-type Urbanization of the whole Tianjin and its 16 administrative districts form both horizontal and vertical dimensions.The research draws several conclusions. On one hand, it shows an upward trend over the years of the New-type Urbanization development level of Tianjin, and the quality of residents’life should be enhanced and the infrastructure construction should be strengthened. On the other hand, it appears an uneven development status of the New-type Urbanization development level of Tianjin’s 16 administrative districts, among them Binhai District is the best and Jixian County is the worst, and it probably associates with whether the transportation is convenient enough or not and whether surrounding areas is rich enough or not. At last, a series of improvement measures and suggestions have put forward to help the relevant city planners and policy makers to make better decisions.This thesis has innovations in research object selection, evaluation index system and empirical approach. Firstly, unlike the existing qualitative study, it selects a municipality as research object to make quantitative study. Secondly, unlike the existing vast and complex indicator systems, it constructs a scientific and reasonable indicator system for Tianjin. What’s more, it uses AHP to evaluate the development level of the whole city and uses Factor Analysis to evaluate its 16 administrative districts, which can be comprehensive and accurate.
