A Study On The Development Of Mengzhong - India - Burma Economic Corridor In Southwest Silk Road

Under the backgroud of regional economic integration, BCIM, as four neighboring developing countries, wish to participate in all kinds of cooperation and root out the potential for their development, so as to complement each other’s advantages and promote common development. with the United States returning to Asia,and implementing the strategy to contain China, China plays more emphasis on relations with neighboring countries. Although in recent years the friendly exchanges between China and South Asian countries go more frequently, economic and trade cooperation increase quickly, cultural exchanges become colorful, the cooperation between China and South Asia did not rise to the official nature of the cooperation organization. In May 2013, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang made in view of BCIM Rally held successfully building initiatives BCIM economic corridor when visiting India. In September and October 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping, during his visit to Kazakhstan and Indonesia, were made to build the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", geting the world’s attention."Along the way" of the building which has risen to the national strategy is an important strategic measure to expand China and other countries in the new era of openness and cooperation. Southwest Silk Road, of which BCIM economic corridor is an important part, is part of the Silk Road Economic Belt, so BCIM is an important part of economic corridors "along the way" strategy. Therefore, the construction of BCIM economic corridors strengthen cooperation with South Asian countries,are concerned with the implementation of Chinese diplomatic strategy and the strategy of the Indian Ocean, giving references and providing experience for the construction and development of Along the way.The article makes the history of BCIM economic corridor as a starting point,and hackle the development process of BCIM economic corridors,what’s more,I will stand on the Chinese perspective to analyse the developing basis and importance of BCIM economic corridor.Also,with the concept of BCIM economic corridors,I will analyse China and Bangladesh, India and Burma three countries in the infrastructure, industrial park, the energy and tourism cooperation.As far as I’m concerned, BCIM has made some achievements, but there are some obstacles constraints of economic corridor development.With these constraints, I will propose countermeasures to accelerate the development process BCIM economic corridor.
