Research On The Transformation And Transformation Of Manufacturing Industry In Nanjing

Manufacturing industry is deemed as "The foundation of the nation" in the "Made in China 2025". Powerful manufacturing industry is one of the necessary conditions for the national prosperity. Manufacturing industry, as an important role of China’s economic development, is the key to realize the industrial transformation and upgrading in Nanjing. As the capital city of Jiangsu Province and one of the three sub provincial cities in Yangtze River delta region, Nanjing has a long history of manufacturing development and a relatively solid manufacturing base. In the face of the challenge of the Made in China 2025 and Industry 4.0, how to realize the transformation and upgrading of the Nanjing manufacturing industry is currently an important issue for the government.In this paper, the concepts and theories related to manufacturing transformation and upgrading are summarized, and the development of Nanj ing’s manufacturing industry is reviewed. On this basis, the Nanjing manufacturing industry has been deeply studied through the theory of industrial economics, development economics and regional economics using the method of statistical analysis. The basic characteristics of Nanjing manufacturing industry, such as productivity level, heavy industry proportion, enterprise scale, economic benefit, enterprise type, R & D investment, are reached from the two-dimensional spatiotemporal analysis. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of Nanjing manufacturing industry are concluded through the comparison with Yangtze River Delta cities. By means of economic benefit model and LQ-RPT model, the economic benefits and the specialization level of the 31 manufacturing industries are analyzed and the industries which have absolute advantage or comparative advantage are figured out. By using SWOT analysis, a comprehensive analysis of Nanjing manufacturing industry is reached from four aspects, including advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and threats. Finally, the specific measures and policies of the manufacturing transformation and upgrading in Nanjing are proposed. This paper aims to analyze the current situation of the development of manufacturing industry in Nanjing City, find the breakthrough point to accelerate the pace of transformation and upgrading, provide policy recommendations and references for the goal of "Made in China 2025".
