| With the process of globalization accelerated, contact between cities is becoming more diverse, and because the sister city relationship as a special city, emerging research on friendly cities has received increasing attention. But in the domestic and foreign research literature, from a geographic perspective of quantitative studies of sister cities is very limited, so this article based on the perspective of urban geography investigate temporal evolution and geographical features of sister cities, has important theoretical and practical significance.This paper selects the Sino-Japanese friendship cities(total 356 pairs) as an object of study, on the basis of domestic and foreign scholars to study literature, reviewed existing research and combed, summarizes the development of the world’s major countries sister city, law and influencing factors.
