With development of world economy and social economy, tourism has become one of the most robust industries in global economy. Tourism has huge impact upon industrial and economic development of the city by contributing the economy of the city, increasing the employment rate, and encouraging the society to protect their cultural heritage and environment. Therefore, many countries prioritise reasonable development of domestic and foreign tourist market as the main economic task. Furthermore, analysis of tourist market has gradually become the focus of tourism.In general, geographical proximity is an advantage for China and Korea to develop their economy by importing and exporting their products. Moreover, Chinese culture and Korean culture are similar in many ways. In 1992, China and Korea have established diplomatic relationship. Since then, there have been an increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting Korea and vice versa. In 2005, the majority of tourists visiting Korea were Chinese. Therefore, Chinese tourists have become more important in inbound tourism of Korea. This study examines the influence of local economy upon tourism industry based on the statistics from China and Korea. The statistics include the number of foreign tourists in both Chinese and Korean local festivals.
