In twenty-first Century, the competition between enterprises is more about the competition of talents which is the soul of small and medium-sized enterprises and also the important component of the core competitiveness for those enterprises. How to establish the talent advantage is directly related to the survival and development of the enterprises. Compensation management is the most important part of the human resource management and also the key for enterprises to attract talents, retain talents and stimulate their creativity and enthusiasm. However, at present, the human resources management level for many SMEs in our country is relatively low and many enterprises still lack a reasonable compensation management system and program, which directly makes them in disadvantage when they compete with the large state-owned enterprises and foreign enterprises. And in recent years, with the rapid development of Internet technology, the recruitment information and the corresponding compensation details become more transparent, which helps talents move to the companies who provide better compensation. So now the SMEs face an even greater challenge in the talent competition. The shortage of talents and the high mobility of talents have seriously restricted the development of SMEs. Therefore, it is definitely necessary to study the related problems about the compensation management of SMEs.The thesis mainly focuses on the problems in compensation management of SMEs and tries to find proper solutions. It takes company X which is a typical small and medium-size manufacture enterprise as one example, studied the company current compensation management status and other detailed information such as business operation processes and the company internal structure through factory visiting, interview and referring to the company internal documents. Based on the understanding of the company and also combining compensation management related theories, the thesis proposes an optimized scheme of establishing the compensation management system based on the post value evaluation, which can help company X to quickly solve the problems in compensation management and also can be referred to the other SMEs to improve their compensation management.It is found that the compensation management system based on the post value evaluation is easy for SMEs to operate, with quite low cost but can quickly solve the problem in compensation management, which is helpful for the SMEs to improve compensation management level.
