Study On The Coupling Coordination Between Tourism Industry And Regional Economy

With the continuous development of the tourism industry, effects on the regional economy are further enhanced. Accordingly, the regional economic growth is also recognized as the basis of the tourism industry. In fact, the two sides interact with each other. Only by maintaining the harmonious and stable development of both sides, a win-win situation can be achieved. Zhoushan city is a marine tourism city, whose island tourism resources are rich. Studying the mutual coordination effect of tourism industry and economy in Zhoushan city, has the realistic need for the development of tourism and economic growth. This paper, on the basis of the regional economic development theory,industrial structure theory and the theory of coupling coordination degree, profoundly analyses the mechanism of action of interaction between coordinated development of tourism industry and regional economy of Zhoushan city. Methods consist of designing the index system and establishing the coupling coordination degree model of the tourism industry with the regional economy. Zhoushan city and 13 coastal cities in Eastern China including Zhoushan are taken as the object of research. Empirical research of coupling coordination between tourism industry and regional economy from 2005 to 2014 is carried on in this paper. The following conclusions are drawn through the comparative analysis of datas: Firstly, from 2005 to 2014, the development of Zhoushan’s coupling and coordination of the tourism industry and economy can be divided into four stages: In2005, it was in a synchronous type of low coupling stage; In 2006, it was in a regional economic lag type of antagonistic stage; it was in running-in stage from 2007 to 2012; it was in a synchronous type of high level coupling stage from 2013 to 2014. Secondly,reviewing the coupling coordination degree of the tourism industry and economy of the13 coastal cities from the time series from 2005 to 2014, the development degree can be divided into three stages: the imbalance stage, the transition stage and the coordination stage. From the aspect of city level, in the provincial cities, the coupling coordination degree is higher and the growth rate is more stable, while the coupling coordination degree is lower and the growth rate is faster in deputy provincial cities and prefecture-level ones. Looked from the overall, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta economic circle have better urban tourism industry and economic development coordination coupling relationship than that of the cities in the Circum-Bohai sea economic zone. Thirdly, Tianjin, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Ningbo,Xiamen and Shenzhen city can be taken as cities in high quality stage of coordination;Dalian, Yantai, Nantong, Zhoushan and Zhuhai city can be included in cities in good stage of coordination; Weihai city may be recognized as city in medium stage of coordination. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the coordinated development of tourism industry and economy.
