Yulin City, The Potato Industry In The Development Of The Status Quo And Countermeasures

Potato is one of the important grain crops ,it is first grain crop in Yulin .The total out output of potato is 20%of ultimate grain production throughout Yulin .The plant area amounts up to 100 million ha per year. Now, our Yulin City is going on for high yield high quality and efficient agriculture Doing best to increase production ,improve the processing quality and nutritional value, raise the market competitive is one of the dearest tasks before us for the work of potato production and improvement. The sturdy indicate that: Yulin city is a favorable area for potato production in whole country, and it has vast market prospect, and advantageous natural conditions, and powerful technical assistance, a very long tradition of production. After many years of development, potato industry has become one of major four leading industries in economic development in Yulin, and it has played very important roles in improving efficiencies of agriculture, increasing income of farmers, maintaining stability of rural areas, however, in the production of potato, there exists many problems, such as serious degradation of cultivars, slow speed for extension work for new cultivars and new technology, the deepen-processing was poor, the market system is not completely established, the intermediate service agencies is little, the industry chain does not works well, these problems seriously inhibit rapid development of potato industry. In this thesis, the importance for developing potato industry was detailed discussed from the relationship between potato and food security in local area, and relationship between potato and increase of farmers'income. And six advantages for developing potato industry in Yulin City were presented, and investigated mainly the situation of potato production in Yulin, the structure of processing, production capacity, market basis etc. detailed analyzed the existing problems in this industry, and pointed out that, in order to fasten development of potato industry, increase the economic efficiency, develop the local economy, it is needed that strengthening establishment of the extension system for sterilization of potato seeds, and increase the investment for potato industry, and setting up the production base of high-quality specialized potato (goods potato) and marketing system for seed of potato, and establish multi-scope processing systems, and cultivate the intermediate service systems, perfecting scientific service system, strengthening the organization and leadership, supplying the preferential policy to support and supplying some guaranteeing measures, and furthermore, the following issues was discussed in this thesis, such as processing and transformation of potato, increasing the additional values of potato, and solving the difficulties in selling production, and furthermore, promoting industrialization process, and building the bridges between small production and big market, leading farmer to enter into market, and governments at various levels should supply market information, solving the difficulties in information spreading, especially to the decision-makers in Yulin city should not have only the thinking of power source is important, and agriculture is not important, and should strengthen the supporting intensity, and preventing "slogan agriculture"occurs.
