In order to adapt to the increasingly intensive competition environment needs and establish fast, efficiently, dynamic reaction system, an only way for the Chinese business enterprises is to implement the strategy of ERP. But the business enterprises make its successful rate very low because of the cognition, technique reason in put ERP into practice , especially for the large iron and steel business enterprise with 3,000,000 ton steels production capacity, it has no success model and experience to implement the strategy of ERP. XiangTan Iron and Steel Group Limited Corporation (XTISCO) is a big iron and steel enterprise , but if it wants to get to strong enterprise, it should go a very long distance because of its lower competition ability. With the situation of China's entry WTO, in order to meet the challenge of economic global strategy, increase market competition ability, interface with international business enterprise management, raise the level of business enterprise management innovation and information system development, it is an inevitable choice for XTISCO to implement the strategy of ERP.With a member of the XTISCO ERP item, I have a foothold of actual of XTISCO, joining together the successful experience and failure lesson of domestic and international business enterprises in implement of ERP.I participated the whole process of the XTISCO ERP system configuring and design research including the plan, choice of type, BOM design, project of implement, results evaluation, and two-time development, especially I put out independently a evaluation model forERP. It based on some evaluation models which were established by some domestic and international business enterprises that implemented the strategy of ERP successfully. The model is not only for XTISCO, but also for other state-owned iron and steel enterprises which are putting ERP into practice. Basing on the evaluation for of the XTISCO ERP system, I also do the further research about its development. I put forward six new programs which are complement and consummation for XTISCO ERP system.I research systematically configuring design and evaluation of XTISCO ERP system. This paper provides successful experiences of XTISCO and other state-owned business enterprises to go by, it has practically and long-term guiding significance.
