City Residents' Leisure Life Quality Indicators

Leisure has a long history. However, it has not been widely researched until last century. Expecially at present, our society is stepping into a "leisure society". Leisure becomes a new social economic and cultural phenomenon and a basic fator of people's high quality life. As the leisure time is getting much more, and people's pursuing higher and higher quality of life, the study on the quality of leisure life is going to be a new important problem.Study on the quality of leisure life studies how people use their leisure time and how about the leisure opportunities and the leisure environment the society supplies.This paper is going to set up a set of indicators framework that used to assess the quality of urban residents' leisure life. This indicators framework can supply a standard for evaluating the quality of urban residents' leisure life, and some suggestions and instructions for the authorities.Based upon reviews of the former related reseaches,this paper brings forward an initial set of indicators. Using Delphi and factor analysis as tools to identify effective indicators, this paper develops a set of the quality of leisure life indicatorsframework consisting three first-degree indicators------"leisure quality of residents'"leisure functions of the city' "supporting system of leisure",nineteen second-degree indicators and lots of third-degree indicators. Then, the paper gives the way that how to use the indicators framework, that is, the assessing model and calculation means. Finally, using the indicators framework, the author estimates the quality of leisure life of HangZhou urban residents, and presents some suggestions to improve the quality of urban residents' leisure life.
