Shaanxi Fruit Industry Cluster Development

The phenomenon of industrial cluster has been a heated topic of global economy and there emerge endless theoretical and experimental studies. While the rare natural conditions in Shaanxi province are in favor of the growth of diverse fruits and make fruit industry become the pillar industries of Shaanxi agriculture. In order to find a clustered road for Shaanxi fruit industry, being different from other relative literature, this paper integrates industrial cluster theory with fruit industry of Shaanxi.Using many methods such as experimental studies, literature study, economical analysis and diamond model analysis etc, the author analyses forming and features of the industry cluster, and put forward that under the conditions of rich natural resources, economies of scale, externality, support of relevant extended industry, foreign direct investment, entrepreneurship and government policies in certain area, there formed industrial cluster because of interaction of market factors and non-market factors, and poses that industrial cluster has the features of geographic concentration, concerted evolution, the collaboration of professional specialization, economics of scope competition and collaboration etc. The author analyses development of industrial cluster theory, and poses that industrial cluster theory has derived from the theories of Alfred Marshall's Economics to Michael E. Porter's Competitive Advantage theory. After sorting out Industrial cluster theory, the author introduces Michael E. Porter's Industrial cluster theory in detail, puts forward the idea that Diamond model theory is its basis and analyses six components of complete diamond model. On this basis the author further analyses the actual situations of six factors influencing the development of fruit industry in Shaanxi and holds the idea that fruit industry can be developed and promoted using cluster in Shaanxi.Based on the analysis of theory, This paper researches fruit industry in liquan country. Presently it has formed comparatively integrated industrial chain with the collaboration of professional specialization, which consists of management of fruit plantation—juice processing— preservation — packing— transportation—sale etc. On the basis of the analysis of theory and deep research, the author takes the shape of Liquan fruit industrial cluster to show the reality and possibility of developing Shaanxi fruit industry by means of cluster.
