| Nowadays, the foundation of the CAFTA (China and Association of South-East Asian Nations Free Trade Area) is one of the focuses that we concern most. Especially during the recent years, with the rapid development of trade business between China & ASEAN (Association of South-East Asian Nations), ASEAN has become the fifth largest trade partner of China, and China, is the sixth largest one of ASEAN. For either the developed Changjiang Delta Area or the developing South-West Area, the trade volume between those areas and ASEAN has been increased annually. Under the background of economy regionalization & globalization, regional economic cooperation has become an inevitable trend, which accelerates the foundation of the CAFTA. Year 2005 is important for the CAFTA, how to make use of this opportunity, and to enlarge the economy & trade cooperation between China & ASEAN, is one subject worthy to be discussed.This dissertation is based on the foundation of the CAFTA. At the beginning, there is the analysis for the possibility to expand ASEAN market under the coordination of Changjiang Delta Area & South-East Area. The opportunity, historical & present basis, the theory of trade, and the theory of regional economy have been taken into consideration, which have provided corroboration for the analysis above mentioned. In the following, there is the analysis for the necessity to expand ASEAN market under the coordination of Changjiang Delta Area & South-East Area. Data statistics, real example analysis, and other methods are used to study the trade situation, trade structure and trade development between Changjiang Delta Area and ASEAN, and those between South-East Area and ASEAN. After that, some problems to be solved are raised. Finally, some measures, including multi-domain industry cooperation, investment cooperation, exhibition economy and exploration of Lancang River - MeKong River drainage area, are considered and studied, based on that, we could get the vista of expanding ASEAN market in future.Both the development of Changjiang Delta Area & the CAFTA has been taken into consideration in this dissertation. The foundation of the CAFTA provides one of the best opportunities for expanding ASEAN market. This opportunity will upgrade the economy level of Changjiang Delta Area, enlarge the radiation effectof Shanghai economic center, meanwhile, it will also accelerate the development of economy of West Area and decrease the economic imbalance between different areas, which is of great importance for us.In this dissertation, Changjiang Delta Area refers to Shanghai, Jiangsu Province & Zhejiang Province. ASEAN refers to the ten countries founding the AFTA (Association of South-East Asian Nations Free Trade Area). Besides the above, for the purpose of convenience and the availability of data, the South-West Area in this dissertation refers to Yunnan Province & Guangxi Province. |
