The average appliedMFN tariff decreased to10.4% when WTO finished the Trade Policy Review of Brazilin 2004 and the import licensing applies to goods also reduce a lot. These measureshave made the Brazil's economic development more flexible and diversified and therole of trade in promoting the economic development to become increasinglyimportant.Brazil is actively participated in WTO and makes full use of the multilateral tradenegotiation mechanism and dispute settlement system of WTO. It promotes the"south-south" collaboration and leads and helps developing members to participate inand make good use of WTO.This article is mainly focused on the research of Brazil's role and strategy in WTOand explains the role of Brazil in WTO in the first part. It stars with Brazil's role inWTO and the analyses the role of Brazil in Doha Round, G-20 and the disputesettlement system.Then the paper further studies the strategy and measures that Brazil takes in WTO. Itexplains the integration of Brazil's regulatory system of trade and investment withWTO and then analyses how Brazil make full use of the strength of G-20 Group andthe dispute settlement system to vindicate it's benefits and lead the collaboration ofdeveloping members to enhance the negotiation ability and strive for more interests.
