From the point of view of software engineers, this article introduces a newmethod for software houses to establish an appropriate compensation system forsoftware engineers. That is the whole compensation formula.Firstly, this article describes the development history of China softwareindustry and future opportunities of it. Secondly, it makes a detailed descriptionfor software engineers' actual compensation level, and their actual compensationstructure. Thirdly, it makes a particular description for software engineers' workprocedures and themselves abilities for their work. Form the above information,this article indicates that software industry has been an important industry inChina now. Then, this article particularly expounds the course of establishing thewhole compensation formula for software engineers. The whole compensationformula is composed of different compensation elements. Every element shouldbe analyzed in detail. Then make a compensation element test for softwareengineers. Then, ask software engineers to evaluate different compensationelements chosen by them on the basis of the import of these elements to their life.Finally, from the result of the test, companies know which compensationelement should be included in the whole formula, and they also know importantpercentage for every element included in the whole formula. Otherwise, thisarticle provides some advice for companies to reform their actual compensationsystem. Hope that this new method could help IT companies design a bettercompensation system for their software engineers.
